Words that are too descriptive for your taste

I dislike the word "raw," 'specially when it's describing hands in the wintertime

I never liked the word "moist". I don't know why but it has always sounded like a gross or dirty word for me. Just say it a few times and you will see what I mean. lol

Another overly descriptive word is "gunk." I mean, it's good for really dirty or really gross things, but the way most people use it is just... X(

For me that word has got to be grainy. It gives me that feeling of touching dust or sand when on a neatly laid bedsheet and you get the feeling of something being really out of place. Don't know if that makes sense or not.??

You get why that's a word too descriptive for me. Even the sound of it is horribly bad in my ears.
