Android or Iphone

Having moved to the Apple side a few months ago, I have to say, it's a nice experience. There are certain things that are done a lot better on iOS than on Android. But I do still miss that freedom of being able to search for apps on Google and downloading them easily. Not being able to sideload apps is not great.

Android, I'm pretty sure Apple has deals with the government and trades your info with them or anyone else who wants it.
TBH, Google is generally worse for your privacy than Apple, especially since selling data is one of their biggest sources of revinue. I know a few years ago Apple got in trouble with the government when they won't disclose iMessage logs when the FBI wanted some criminal's iMessage history from a search warrant, but I'm sure that probably changed afterwards.

I think I've only ever owned one iPhone, which was a 5c - I've pretty much been an avid Android user since.

Apple's OS just felt incredibly dated and restrictive in comparison.. As @Claraviolet said, I think they're generally more of a status symbol than anything these days.
