Introducing Treehouses!

In the pursuit of all things Ye Olde Interwebz, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce Social Groups to the site. I'd imagine everyone here is familiar with the concept, so I won't bother going into too much detail on them.

Right now, you should see a "Treehouses" link in the Navbar which will bring you to a list of all the available groups. For now, there's just the one - you can add your own (up to 5) if you have a Heat Badge (85 posts) or above.
If you own the Premium Member item, then you can create an unlimited number of groups.

Regardless of whether you meet the conditions to create a group, you can still join others.

Ahahaha I made it first just to check things out, because the only other one is a private admin group, but I'll see if I can make u a admin of the group since you would have made it anyways (and, you're way more up to date with anime than I am ) so feel free to change the group to your liking.

I've added some custom fields that allow users to change the look of their Treehouses, under the "Style properties" header

There's just some basic options for now, like URL color, but it will be expanded upon over time. An input for full-fledged CSS exists at the bottom, for those who know it.

Yep that's the one - I've been mucking around with the style options I mentioned earlier so I've not gotten around to adding many groups just yet, but keep your eyes peeled!

Ah don't worry its not like you really have to do anything, especially with a forum this size. You can even share some threads like ones that organize group watches from MAF, if you'd like.

Honestly I'm not too sure, just making random posts in them I don't think so but you can add forums to the groups I believe, so maybe posts in those forums do?

Hmm..I see.
I know a few plugins which can make such forums and if you uninstall them, you might end up losing all those forum posts

Yeah it's because the plugin would create it's own table instead of using Xenforo's main ones
I'm good at keeping backups of the DB, so If we uninstalled it would be possible to import the group posts to Xenforo's post table using SQL

I've finally gotten around to adding Nintendo, Xbox and Playstation treehouses, that are acting more as placeholders right now.
I've been slowly working away on the PC gaming treehouse, linking up more page elements to the style options and I've also just finished writing a very WIP bash script that scrapes Steam's Daily Deals and posts them to the PC Gaming treehouse every day at 6PM GMT using Xenforo's API. I'll be expanding the script to scrape deals for the other gaming treehouses in the future.

Also @Claraviolet, I tested and can confirm that things posted in treehouses do affect global statistics, but only if a board has been created within the group and the post was made there (ie posting to the news feed does not count). So I'll eventually get around to adding a board for each of the groups.

That's a great feature. I'm looking forward to joining some of the groups that you guys have created. Who knows, I might even create might own one!
